Registration deadline: 13 Nov 2015
Starting date: 19 Nov 2015
Ending date: 19 Nov 2015
Course aim, objectives and outline of content
This course aims to build the capacity of operations staff (for example, logistics, finance, security, and IT) involved in CTP to effectively contribute to the design and implementation of the cash transfer processes in humanitarian relief and recovery contexts.
The training follows the steps in the programme cycle and addresses the operational tasks, coordination, procedures, tools, and critical factors to consider for the each step in the cash transfer process. The course will reflect recent research, learning and good practice in CTP.
By the end of the training, participants will be able to:
- Provide an overview of CTP concepts and delivery mechanisms
- Define key steps and decisions for the cash transfer process in the project cycle
- Describe specific operation functions tasks and competencies in the cash transfer process and the interactions and coordination between programme and operations functions
- Describe the critical factors for operations staff to take into account when identifying and managing the appropriate delivery mechanisms and delivery agents for cash transfers
- List different tools that can contribute to decision-making and implementation of appropriate delivery mechanisms
- Identify good practice approaches to providing operational support in CTP design and implementation
Participant profile
This course is for operational staff (for example, logistics, finance, IT, and security), with limited experience of CTP, who are engaged in the implementation of CTP at regional and country levels and who seek to develop their CTP competencies to better support the delivery of high quality CTP programmes. We are specifically hoping to target country-level operational staff that are involved in decision making with regard to finance and logistics or other support functions.
Prior to the course, participants will need to have completed the CaLP Introduction to CTP e-learning course. This introductory training is a pre-requisite for attending the course to ensure a basic understanding of CTP at the start of the training.
